How You Can Make a Difference
By Diane • Jun 5th, 2008 • Category: General InformationFanconi anemia is a potentially fatal blood disorder that affects children by attacking their bone marrow. Most children, even after a successful bone marrow transplant do not reach adulthood with an average life span of only 22 years old. They are up to 300,000 times more likely to face cancer in their lifetime. Help us change those devastating statistics by getting involved. This is not just about a small orphan disease. FA has become a “model” disease for cancer research and mainstream medicine. FA research has identified that the breast cancer gene and a FA gene are one in the same. Researchers believe FA will lead to many other cures. B Positive, Inc. friends and the Pearl family’s efforts have sent over $100,000 to the Fanconi Anemia Research Fund helping to fund $10.4 million for 147 projects at 39 institutions in 8 countries.” Your support will reach far beyond the limits of FA.
B Positive, Inc. is a volunteer run 501c3 Missouri charity established in 2001. Donations are tax-deductible. FA mother of two, Diane Pearl said to us, “How does a simple mother like me thank everyone, especially two strangers for saving my children’s lives…for giving me Mother’s Day every moment? While helping Alexandra and Matt, so many others tell me they have been touched and changed forever. This celebration puts purpose to the pain , so please give till it hurts. Help us make a difference giving everyone hope to find life-saving cures. May God bless you and your family for these amazing efforts. The kids tell their friends every dollar can make a big difference.” You can, too.
Diane is the mother of Austin, Alexandra and Matt. She has co-authored and published five financial books and currently is writing Purpose For the Pain, a story of faith, family and friends facing the medical challenges of Fanconi anemia and two bone marrow transplants.
She volunteers at the children’s schools and hospitals, speaks regularly for Ronald McDonald House charities, Fanconi Anemia Research Fund, and the National Marrow Donor Program. Her favorite is maintaining this site started in 2001 to inform and inspire other families.

Hello Pearl family. This is Brian, the individual who was your sales associate at Dilliard’s in Chesterfield. I just wanted to thank you for cheering up what was my worst day at work yet since i started. You were some of the nicest people i have EVER met. You are also the strongest family i have seen in your type of situation in any of the 12 places I have lived. I hope to hear from you again and would love to continue to be able to help you shop and just get out and have a good time. And Alex/Matt, if you EVER just need someone to talk to I would be happy to be there for you: whether it is just to pray or anything else whatso-ever.
Hello,Matt
This is Jarrett from kanakuk. I miss you! Please email me. This year I am going to K-Kountry. I hope you are to.
